When he plays again for the Brazilian selection, Neymar will probably already have celebrated his 33rd birthday.

More than a year ago, during a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup with Brazil against Uruguay, Neymar suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. At the start of last week, the Al-Hilal player made his comeback to competition with his Saudi club, in the Asian Champions League.

Regarding the Brazilian selection, the former number 10 of Paris Saint-Germain will still have to wait. According to local media
Globo Esportehe will not play again under the colors of the Seleçao before 2025. We should therefore not expect to see him appear in the Dorival Junior list, which will be revealed on Friday, for the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup against Venezuela and Uruguay.

Neymar, horizon March 2025

This is a common desire of Neymar and his national team, so that he can gain strength and return in the best possible physical shape. Thus, the Seleçao’s top scorer (79 goals) could play against Argentina and Colombia next March.

During his career, the native of Mogi das Cruzes was not spared from serious injuries. Fractured vertebrae during the 2014 World Cup, ruptured ankle ligament in February 2018, hamstrings, adductors… If Neymar was sometimes unlucky, his somewhat reprehensible lifestyle was not always unrelated to his many physical problems.
