Having judged that they were the victim of a conspiracy, the leaders of Real Madrid chose not to attend the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday. A perfectly accepted decision, which they do not regret and which they should soon return to.
The fact that Rodri was preferred to Vinicius Jr for the Ballon d’Or annoyed Casa Blanca to the point that its representatives canceled their trip to the French capital. For this approach, they were widely criticized in France. But not only that. In their country too, the Merengue were entitled to some acid remarks.
“The victimization of Real has no reason to be”
This Tuesday, Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, took it upon himself to attack them: “I am a Real Madrid supporter. The important values of this club are to be a gentleman and shake hands when you lose.”
The Spanish leader believes that this is not the first time that the most successful European club has behaved in this way:
“It’s been a while since Real Madrid lost this state of mind. The victimization of Real Madrid has no reason to be and is exaggerated. I don’t know which way they’re going.”
