Continuing from the 8th day of the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt traveled to the capital this Sunday to challenge Union Berlin late in the afternoon. A promising meeting between two well-ranked teams who are off to a promising start to the season. In the first period, the visitors did well and Mario Götze opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour (0-1, 14th).

However, matters in Frankfurt got tougher after returning from the locker room. Indeed, while Benedict Hollerbach equalized shortly after the hour mark (1-1, 66th), Dino Töppmoller’s men were reduced to ten at the end of the match following the expulsion of Arthur Theate (78th) . Despite this, Eintracht was able to get a draw and had one last thrill with the goal refused for offside by Tim Skarke (90+1). With this draw, the two teams are not performing well: Union Berlin climbs to 4th place while Frankfurt remains 6th.
