Saint-Etienne punished in Angers

The promoted team’s match with a difficult start in Ligue 1 turned to the SCO’s advantage this Saturday against Saint-Etienne, during the 9e lifting of the championship. On their lawn, the Angevins were able to sign their very first success of the season (4-2), in line with their two positive results obtained recently in Marseille and Toulouse (1-1 in both cases).

If Davitashvili did everything to hold off the locals, finding the fault twice in this game (16e57e), Dujeux’s men knew how to fight at all costs and inexorably restart the machine triggered at the start of the match by Abdelli (7e). This with the help of Aholou (39e), of Niane (69e on penalty) and Dieng (90e+3).

The SCO, on the strength of this success, rises to 14e position with seven units on the clock, just ahead of the Greens who suffered a second defeat in a row – the sixth, already, in nine acts. Note that Saint-Etienne has every chance of finding itself in the red zone at the end of the Sunday meeting between Toulouse and Montpellier.
