Tolerance 0. This is the message passed this Thursday by the Minister of Sports, Gil Avérous, at the microphone of BFMconcerning homophobia and all other kinds of discrimination and violence in French stadiums. After the identification of “two of the ringleaders” chants sung during PSG – Strasbourg on Saturday, Gil Avérous indicated that the meeting between OM and PSG, scheduled for Sunday at the Vélodrome, could be stopped in the event of a new act in the stands. Worse, the team concerned would lose the match on the green carpet:

We want to put an end to the excesses. Whether it be acts of violence, acts of homophobia… Very concretely, among the decisions taken, we want to strictly apply the FIFA protocol. As soon as there is homophobic chanting, the match will be suspended with a call to order. The request made to the LFP and the FFF in general is to strictly apply the regulations: suspension, interruption and stoppage. And we will do it on Sunday. The match will be stopped and lost for the home team, it is very clear and it was very well understood by the League.» The message got through.
