During AC Milan’s 1-0 victory against Udinese this weekend in Serie A, French goalkeeper Mike Maignan was once again the target of racist chants from opposing supporters.

While the international tricolor protected the cages located in front of the visitors’ park in the second half, insulting cries were heard, recalling a similar episode last January during a trip to Udine. On this occasion, monkey cries were made, which led to the temporary closure of the Udinese stand.

A worrying context for the return match

The songs were accompanied by an ambiguous banner –
“Today it’s just a greeting, in Udine it will be a real tribute” – interpreted as a threat to Mike Maignan during the return match scheduled for March.

The Rossonero goalkeeper, already the victim of such attacks in the past, continues to face this unacceptable behavior, which tarnishes sporting performances.
