Before a shock against Bayern and especially a Clasico in Madrid, FC Barcelona played against Sevilla by scoring five goals (5-1), Sunday evening in La Liga.

While Real Madrid continues to snatch its victories in La Liga, now disrupted by the terrible media storm around Kylian Mbappé, FC Barcelona is on cloud nine. The Blaugranas won their ninth match in 10 La Liga days, Sunday evening at the visit of Sevilla FC (5-1), to regain a three-point lead at the top of the standings. Hansi Flick’s team is preparing for a Champions League shock against Bayern on Wednesday at Montjuic, but especially next Saturday’s Clasico at the Bernabéu!

Before an extremely important week, the Catalans played against a strong Andalusian team (with Loïc Badé and Lucien Agoumé starting). Robert Lewandowski scored twice, from the penalty spot (24th) then on a service from Raphinha (39th), to post 12 goals in the championship alone (plus two in the UCL). Pedri also scored in the first period with a huge strike (28th).

After two appearances before the international window, Ansu Fati, who was loaned to Brighton last season, was started for the first time this season. He received a standing ovation when he came out. Pablo Torre came into play and scored an express double (82nd and 88th). Gavi made his comeback to competition (83rd), eleven months after his cruciate ligament rupture. The young 19-year-old Belgian Stanis Idumbo saved the honor for Sevilla (87th). The Rojiblancos are 13th in the standings.
