Continuation of this 8th day of Serie A, and new successes. After Naples’ narrow victory over Empoli (0-1) at the start of the afternoon, it was Atalanta Bergamo’s turn to score points. Traveling on the pitch in Venice, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men easily won (0-2). The match quickly turned in favor of the Black and Blues. From the 7th minute of play, Mario Pasalic scored from the area (0-1), on a pass from Mateo Retegui. After returning from the locker room, the passer became a scorer. Retegui, on a beautiful lob, doubled the lead (47th, 0-2). Sad result for Venice, which continues its bad series (4 defeats in the last 5 matches), and remains bottom with its four small points. For its part, Bergamo secures a good 6th position.

The other 3 p.m. match pitted Fiorentina against Lecce, in an almost one-sided game (0-6). Danilo Cataldi, well found by Edoardo Bove on the edge of the area, opened the scoring with a nice goal in the 20th minute (0-1). Andrea Colpani managed to double the stakes for The Viola around ten minutes later (34th, 0-2). Finally, shortly before half-time, it was again Danilo Cataldi’s turn to find the net (45th, 0-3). Lecce’s collapse continued in the second half. Colpani first for his double (54th, 0-4), then Beltran for the manita (61st, 0-5) and finally Parisi at the end of the match (72nd, 0-6). At the end of the day, Fiorentina took 5th place, on goal difference. Lecce, on the other hand, like Venice, continues its inexorable race towards the bottom of the table. The club is currently in 18th place with 5 points.
