Neymar is getting closer to a long-awaited return to the field. A year after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture during Brazil’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, the 32-year-old striker returned to collective training with Al-Hilal last Friday.
In a video shared by the Saudi club on social networks, the Auriverde appears alongside his teammates, appearing sufficiently recovered to consider a return to competition. According to ESPN Brasil, the former PSG member, who has only played five games with Al-Hilal since his arrival in the summer of 2023, could be lined up in the next AFC Champions League match against Al-Ain, next Monday.
“I suffered every day”
A comeback on the green rectangle before 2025 would delight not only Ney’s supporters, but also the player himself. Indeed, in a recent interview for NR Sportsthe Seleção star admitted to having experienced this long period of unavailability very badly.
“My injury? At that point, I already knew it was serious. What I love most in life is playing football. I suffered every day I was away from the field. That’s what hurt me the most. But the objective is there. (…) I get up every time I get hurt,” said Neymar in tears.
