Pogba settles scores with Manchester United!

Paul Pogba revealed that he wanted to leave Manchester United in 2019, well before his departure for Juventus in 2022. Blocked by Ed Woodward, the transfer never happened, despite the support of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Paul Pogba recently revealed that he wanted to leave Manchester United, well before his move to Juventus in 2022. In an interview with Daily Mailthe French midfielder confided that he wanted to leave as early as the 2018-2019 season, after the dismissal of José Mourinho and the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Despite a good season, marked by 16 goals in 47 games, Pogba did not see the club progressing against rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool. Although Solskjaer accepted his desire to leave, Ed Woodward, the club’s then executive vice-chairman, blocked the transfer.

“I didn’t see the club going in the right direction”

Pogba explained that he was no longer mentally committed to Manchester United, but returned for pre-season out of professionalism. Despite his desire to leave, the transfer was refused by the club. The latter forcing him to stay, although his injuries subsequently ended his adventure at Old Trafford. Today, after being suspended for doping, Pogba is preparing his return scheduled for March 2025.
