Trent Alexander-Arnold doesn’t know what tomorrow will bring. Currently training with England, for whom he scored on a free kick during the victory (3-1), this Sunday against Finland, the Liverpool side spoke about his future in the columns of The Athletic. At the end of his contract next summer, the English international (31 caps, 3 goals) did not seem to close the door to a departure from his club still. Although the 25-year-old has reaffirmed his desire to one day become the captain of the Reds, the latter’s contractual situation leaves doubt about his future. “I want to be a Liverpool player this season (at least), that’s what I’ll say”explains the Briton, who therefore leaves a door ajar for a free departure next June.

One of the important factors for the future of the right back will be the quest for trophies. Recently, he confided to his national selection partners his concern about not winning any more with the Reds. “I had a conversation with Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace). I said, ‘There’s a chance I’ll never win another trophy in my career. And there’s a chance I’ll win many, many more. I have entered my prime and I don’t want to be the player who only won trophies when he was young.. Arne Slot and the Reds therefore know what they must look for to convince Alexander-Arnold to stay in Mersey.
