Luis Enrique had targeted the weak point Ronald Araujo. In the documentary of Movistar+ dedicated to the Spanish technician, “No tenéis ni*** idea”, a sequence reveals the latter’s analysis towards the Barça defender, during the confrontation between the two clubs in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, last season. “Araujo is a top player, but he is the one who has the most problems with getting the ball out. Every time he receives the ball, we block a passing line and we are inside”*, Enrique told his players.
A fixation with the Uruguayan which ended up proving the former La Roja coach right, because the 25-year-old defender was sent off during the return match and surely allowed Paris Saint-Germain to exit winner of this confrontation. Luis Enrique, however, believes that his team would have beaten the Blaugranas, with or without this numerical superiority. “Xavi’s Barça are not a good team defensively, they are not dominant.
