Former French international Bixente Lizarazu believes that a youngster can replace Aurélien Tchouaméni as captain of the Blues.

Last Thursday, during the Nations League match against Israel, it was Aurélien Tchouaméni who wore the captain’s armband of the France team. He had replaced Kylian Mbappé, absent from this gathering.

The former Bordeaux player was quite convincing in this role. He was also entitled to the praise of his coach Didier Deschamps. However, there are some who think there is a better solution for this responsibility. This is the case of Bixente Lizarazu.

Lizarazu under the spell of Camavinga

The 98 world champion thought of a 21-year-old player to become the new boss of the French selection.
“Maybe Camavinga, even if he is very young, I find that he has a very mature attitude,” he declared on Téléfoot.

Liza also indicated that he was not too worried about the future, convinced that the Blues have players with character to make the starters forget. “There was a generational change, we didn’t talk about it much. There is something being rebuilt. Players who will take their place both on the pitch and also in their ability to pull the team along. It’s moving. There are plenty of players like Tchouaméni, Koundé, Maignan and Rabiot. It’s up to them to take charge.”
