The goalkeeper market is a very popular market for big European clubs. It must be said that having a reference to this position allows you to score quite a few points. So the big European teams do not hesitate to anticipate as much as possible to get their hands on a sure bet which will ensure this position for several years, others must work urgently. This season, FC Barcelona had to act quickly with the serious injury of Marc-André Ter Stegen. The German goalkeeper is out for the rest of the season and management had to, outside of transfer periods, recruit his replacement to help out.

The Catalan club thus decided to bet on Wojciech Szczęsny who had nevertheless decided to retire. The Polish goalkeeper had broken his contract with Juventus this summer to hang up his boots, but could not resist the call from Barça. A perfect opportunity for a final challenge. But the Blaugranas are not fooled and know that, with an aging Ter Stegen and therefore a Szczęsny there to help out, they will have to strengthen themselves from next summer. In this sense, the Catalan media Sport revealed that FC Barcelona had targeted Marcin Bulka for this position. The Polish goalkeeper from OGC Nice has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Ligue 1 championship and he is arriving one year from the end of his contract. Enough to make him want to go elsewhere, and to attract clubs.

Bulka too big for Nice?

A rumor that is clearly not just a rumor. Indeed, present with Poland during this international break, the former PSG goalkeeper appeared on national television to discuss his future. He took the opportunity to subtly confirm Barça’s interest and above all clearly cast doubt on his future. “FC Barcelona? As they say, in every rumor there is a little truth… When it comes to transfer matters, I would prefer my agent to speak. I’m here to be in good shape every week and give arguments so that clubs like that talk about me. That’s really a compliment. When someone talks about these clubs, it’s always an extra motivation for me and a sign that I’m doing something right. If I didn’t play well, no one would probably say that. Today I’m in Nice and I’m focusing on the club, because we’re only at the start of a long season. I have to be even more focused on the here and now to prove.”

Considered one of the references of the Nice team, Bulka also wanted to send a message to its management. And the Polish international seems to have become too big for OGC Nice, especially since the Gym’s extension proposal is far from having satisfied the player’s clan. “I have my dreams and my goals. I want to play in the Champions League, I want to play with the selection in big tournaments and be one of the best goalkeepers in the world. I don’t have a dream club where I would like to play. You have to be realistic, I am at Nice today and I have a contract until 2026. I want to have a very good season and help the club qualify for the Champions League, because that also depends on me . Then we’ll see what happens. I spoke to the club, but nothing has been clarified. We started the negotiations ourselves a year ago, the response was not what we expected. We just had to wait, even though we were the first to approach and want to talk. Obviously, people do not stand still, but develop, we also need to talk about the future. Time flies and you have to make the most of it.” This is clear. Nice has been warned. Keeping your goalkeeper this summer is going to be a very complicated mission.
