Manchester City continues to reap significant revenue from its players, this time thanks to the sale of Yan Couto to Dortmund. Loaned to Borussia after a promising period at Girona, the 22-year-old Brazilian defender saw his permanent transfer confirmed for 30 million euros, after the German club activated its purchase option. Couto impressed with one assist in seven appearances, which convinced Dortmund to complete the deal.

A great operation for City and Dortmund

This transfer marks the second biggest sale of 2024 for Manchester City, behind the transfer of Julian Alvarez to Atlético Madrid for 75 million euros. In addition to strengthening the finances of the English club, Yan Couto will now have the opportunity to establish himself as a pillar of defense at Dortmund under the leadership of Nuri Sahin.
