While Joshua Kimmich had opened the door to a departure, the German international finally seems to be getting closer to an extension with Bayern Munich. The versatile 29-year-old midfielder, whose current contract expires in June 2025, would have been convinced by the club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, who would have promised him the captain’s armband in the future, replacing Manuel Neuer. Despite the interest of major European clubs, including FC Barcelona, Kimmich could therefore continue his adventure with the Bavarian giant.
An agreement in sight for Kimmich
Announced about leaving last summer, Joshua Kimmich is now in advanced discussions to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. After showing a certain weariness, the player seems to have changed his mind, in particular thanks to the guarantees offered by the club, including the promise of becoming the captain. This extension would be a hard blow for his suitors, who hoped to recruit him free next summer.
