From his debut at AS Monaco to Real Madrid, via Paris Saint-Germain and the French team, Kylian Mbappé (25 years old) has always had the spotlight on him. Very often, it was to talk about his talent, his extraordinary qualities or even his many goals. But for some time now, the Frenchman has not been spared from criticism. Last year, the former Bondy player was criticized for his less interesting performances in the Parisian jersey. He also made a name for himself for his complicated relationships with the Ile-de-France management, notably Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, or the particular management of Luis Enrique. Subsequently, it was his transfer to Real Madrid that caused ink to flow around the world.

An absence among the Blues which is controversial

After seven years spent in the French capital, KM9 went to live his dream with the Merengues. Obviously, the wait was very high, especially since the captain of the Blues knew that he had to somehow redeem himself after having said no several times to Real Madrid. Determined to succeed within Casa Blanca, he put all the chances on his side and followed to the letter the program sent by the club’s physical trainer, Antonio Pintus. The Iberian press had also explained that Mbappé was willing to cut short his vacation after his failed Euro with the Tricolores in order to join his new club and get to work as soon as possible. But Florentino Pérez’s team refused and told him to take advantage of his time off.

Once his vacation was over, the 2018 world champion continued his seduction operation in Madrid. In addition to speaking Spanish perfectly, he invested in his teammates, even the youngest ones. On the pitch, he experienced some adaptation difficulties, although he managed to be decisive (7 goals, 1 assist in 11 appearances in all competitions). But for several days, KM9 has been at the center of all criticism in France. Indeed, we do not understand why he had to withdraw from the Blues, even though he played with his club last Saturday against Villarreal, two days after the announcement of Didier Deschamps’ list. The French coach tried to put out the fire caused by the absence of his captain.

Mbappé believes he does not yet meet the expectations of the Merengues

“Kylian crystallizes a lot of things about him. This is not making a case of Kylian. We need to see this more generally. (…) The initial postulate is that the interests of the clubs and the interests of the national teams, I am not just talking about the French team, necessarily diverge at some point, and we must not forget either that the employer is the club, it is not the federation” A very different speech from that which he has been able to give in the past concerning other players. Whatever the case, the Mbappé case is the talk of the town, whether in public or private. For his part, the player born in 98 is in Madrid. This Wednesday, moreover, the Iberian press gives a long update on the subject.

So, Relevo indicates that the Frenchman is not satisfied with himself and that he believes he is not fully meeting expectations at the moment. For this reason, he decided to accelerate the pace and the work. This would partly explain his decision not to join the Blues, in addition to being physically diminished after his injury. The Spanish media adds that Mbappé wants to reach his best level as quickly as possible. Besides, he had no problems during training this week. Relevo specifies that he showed great energy and that he appeared very comfortable during exercises in small spaces. At Real Madrid, we have also praised his professionalism and his involvement.

He works hard to find his best version

Both the Merengue club and the player want to take advantage of this break to work in depth and ensure that the Frenchman is the best possible to face the next challenges before the November break (Celta, Borussia Dortmund, Barça, Valencia, AC Milan and Osasuna ). The sound of the bell is the same in the columns of Marcawho titled “Mbappé, between “debt” and the mini-pre-season“. The pro-Real Madrid publication then commented: “the striker wanted to stay in Madrid and leave the national team aside to improve his physical condition because he believes that he is still not living up to expectations. The club is delighted with his commitment.”

Marca adds: “this absence of pre-season was felt in Mbappé’s performance, better in terms of numbers (seven goals and an assist in 11 matches) than in terms of sensations. Aware of this, it is Mbappé himself , who feels in some way indebted to his new club, who decided to stay in Madrid during the break to work on his physique with the help of Antonio Pintus. The muscle injury suffered against Alavés on September 24 did not help him either, although the player managed to shorten the time initially planned and was only absent from the derby (…) He therefore made the decision not to not respond to France’s call and stay in Madrid to work to achieve its best version as quickly as possible. Kylian Mbappé, who promised his club to score at least 50 goals this season, is putting a lot of pressure on himself, he who wants to do well. At least we can’t blame him for that…
