After the international retirement of Antoine Griezmann, the number 7 of the France team is officially recovered by Ousmane Dembélé.

It’s the end of an era in the French team. The number 7 of the French team, worn for many years by Antoine Griezmann, now has a new owner. It is Ousmane Dembélé who will recover it from the next two meetings of the Blues, against Israel and Belgium.

No. 7 is one of the former Stade Rennais player’s favorite numbers. He wore it during his two seasons in Germany, at Borussia Dortmund. When Dembélé signed for FC Barcelona in 2017, this number was the property of Arda Turan, and the French winger therefore opted for number 11, which was his for four seasons.

At Barça, Dembélé also recovered Griezmann’s No. 7

Dembélé then recovered the No. 7 at Barça in 2021 after the departure… of Antoine Griezmann, who ended his time in Catalonia to return to Atlético de Madrid. Then, when he joined PSG, “Dembouz” could not take No. 7, that of Kylian Mbappé, and therefore turned to No. 10, left free by Lionel Messi.

In the French team, Dembélé has remained faithful to number 11 until now. But he did not want to change his number at PSG to recover No. 7 after the departure of Mbappé to Real Madrid, he jumped at the opportunity with the international retirement of Griezmann.
