Accused by the English Federation following suspicious bets, Lucas Paqueta risks a heavy sanction. And the Brazilian’s affairs are not getting any better since new revelations were made about the player’s entourage on September 26. In fact, the Times explained that several of Paqueta’s relatives were once again involved in a shady sports betting affair. They allegedly sent money to Luiz Henrique, Botafogo striker, who was also involved in match-fixing.

This Tuesday, The Sun makes a new point on this thorny issue. Thus, we learn that the FA kept Lucas Paqueta’s phone for eight months in order to investigate calls, messages and bank statements. During this period, the Brazilian bought a replacement phone. Once the FA returned it to him, he decided to throw away his phone. Problem is, the FA came back a few months later to consult him again and check certain elements. The English media specifies that the phone could not be located. Thus, the FA believes that Paqueta obstructed the proper conduct of the investigation. He is also accused of two aggravated violations for non-cooperation. The Sun adds that the FA wants him banned for life from the world of football.
