After a final lap with Bari last season, Jérémy Ménez decided to bow out. At 37, the former Paris Saint-Germain striker, without a club since March 2024, formalized his retirement this Saturday in an interview on the YouTube channel “La Zone”. “Playing is over. I stop »he confided.
The former French international (24 caps, 2 goals) expressed his desire to stay in the world of football, focusing in particular on the training of young players.
“Now we are going to look at the future, but still in football, why not with young people or in a staff. I’m going to graduate next year. We are going to open a door to the post-career”, he explained.
A rich career
On the green rectangle, Ménez will have played no less than 584 club matches. Trained at FC Sochaux, where he started in 2004, he then wore the colors of AS Monaco (2006-2008), AS Roma (2008-2011), and PSG (2011-2014), with which he won two Ligue 1 titles (2013, 2014) as well as a League Cup (2014).
He continued his career at AC Milan (2014-2016), Girondins de Bordeaux (2016-2017), and briefly at Antalyaspor in Turkey (2017-2018), before flying to Club América in Mexico ( 2017-2020). The native of Longjumeau also played for Paris FC (2019-2020) in Ligue 2 and US Reggina (2020-2023) in Serie B, before concluding his footballing adventure in Bari.
