With more than 30 movements combining arrivals and departures, theMarseille Olympic was the most active French club on the transfer market during the summer transfer window. But the strategy of the Marseille club has been quite divisive, particularly for its management of so-called “undesirable” players.
Like Samuel Gigot or Jordan Veretout, Chancel Mbemba was one of these players placed in the loft. But unlike his two former teammates, the Congolese international defender did not find a base. In conflict with the club, Mbemba saw his ex-coach Claude Le Roy come to his aid.
“This behavior of OM towards him is unworthy”
In comments given to RFI, Claude Le Roy regretted Pablo Longoria’s intransigence towards a player who had invested a lot and enjoyed great popularity at the Vélodrome. “It’s incredible to reach such a situation. Chancel is someone who is extremely easy to manage, who is always ready to give everything,” thundered the French technician.
“This behavior of OM towards him is unworthy. It even surprises me from someone like Pablo Longoria, such an attitude. Or it means that only the money is the only thing that counts and that we completely forget about people.”concluded Le Roy.
