Liga: Mallorca surprises Betis at the end of the match

14 points after 8 days, and a 4th place in the bag. Mallorca supporters certainly wouldn’t have believed it a few weeks ago, yet their team is indeed the hit at the start of the La Liga season. After two last victories against Real Sociedad and Betis, the Rojinegros confirmed this Friday against Valladolid (1-2).

Canadian international Cyle Larin broke the deadlock on the hour mark (59th, 0-1), then Valery made the break at the end of the match (83rd, 0-2). Ivan Sanchez’s reduction in the gap in the final moments of the game was ultimately insufficient. In the ranking, Mallorca is provisionally 4th, behind the three-headed hydra. Valladolid is 18th and relegated.
