A not so bad match!

Lens and Nice were unable to decide between themselves this Saturday (0-0, 6th day). The meeting was, however, rich in intensity.

Franck Haise’s return to the Bollaert-Delelis stadium did not go too badly for him. Having left Racing Club de Lens this summer to land on the bench of OGC Nice, the coach managed not to lose with his new team. In the end, no one gave in, and even if there was no winner between Sang et Or and Aiglons (0-0, 6th day of Ligue 1), the public still had the opportunity to watch a good match.

There were strikes in abundance on both sides. Twenty for the locals, including six on target. And opposite, the Niçois tried their luck fourteen times, for four shots on target… Only. Because since there was no goal, it was in terms of finishing that things went wrong. The fault also lies with goalkeepers who were decisive on several occasions in front of their cages.

Zaroury, the direct red

However, the meeting could have gone to the visitors’ side when François Letexier decided to send off Anass Zaroury. Following a sole from Lensois on Rosario’s ankle, the referee issued the direct red card in the eighty-fifth minute. Already better than the Sang et Or at the end of the match, Nice pressed as much as they could after this twist of fate in their favor, but nothing helped.

In the provisional ranking, this point taken by each of the two teams places them in fourth and fifth place respectively. Lens, for their part, continues a fourth draw in a row in Ligue 1. In a week, they will travel to Strasbourg, while Nice will have a complicated reception against PSG.
