Unless the situation turns around, Wojciech Szczęsny will come out of retirement and sign with FC Barcelona at the start of next week. The former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper is currently in Spain to improve his body before undergoing his medical examination on Monday. According to Sportthe ex-Polish international (84 caps) will receive a salary of three million euros gross per month and his contract will last for a single season in Catalonia.
The arrival of the 34-year-old goalkeeper coincides with Marc-André ter Stegen’s knee injury. The German goalkeeper will not return until next season. The recruitment of Szczęsny will also allow Hansi Flick to benefit from another experienced player, who has taken part in 68 Champions League matches in his career, and a competitor for Iñaki Pena.
