Jules Koundé shines at the start of the season with FC Barcelona. The French defender, who stood out as one of the rare players on the France team to have been fully satisfied during the Euro this summer, enjoys the full confidence of his coach Hansi Flick.
The German, like Xavi before him on the Barcelona bench and Didier Deschamps at the head of the Blues, chose to entrust Koundé with the right-back position in the Catalan defense. A position where the former Bordeaux player, trained central defender, imposes himself and asserts himself as a key element of the Blaugrana eleven.

“Jules also plays this position in the French team (right side, editor’s note). And he plays at an incredible level. Its performance is excellent, I never think of changing it,” said the former Germany coach at a press conference after the victory against Getafe (1-0) this Wednesday in La Liga.
“He still has this desire to progress and always sets an example in training. He is a great fighter who gives everything on the ground. He’s even a great leader”said Flick.
