FC Barcelona seems to have found Marc-André ter Stegen’s replacement. Wojciech Szczęsny is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Barça to replace the German, who has ruptured the patellar tendon in his right knee and is expected to miss at least eight months of competition. According to the Polish media Meczykithe former Arsenal goalkeeper is expected tomorrow to spend his visit with the Blaugranas.

A surprise decision, as Szczęsny had decided to retire from the world of football, a little earlier this summer. At 34, the Polish goalkeeper should therefore join Catalonia for a season and take the number one spot in the Barcelona goal, until Ter Stegen returns. Far from being burned out, the young retiree was an undisputed starter at Juventus last season. He notably played 35 of the 38 possible matches in Serie A with the Bianconeri and delivered a quality Euro with Poland during the Euro in Germany this summer.
