PSG are on a break at the moment. The capital team has no matches for a week after playing three in eight days. It’s a welcome respite and one that Luis Enrique, the team’s coach, is using to gush to the Spanish media about his work at the club.
The Asturian technician is very talkative at the moment. After having spoken in particular about Xavi’s Barça, he dwelt on the different stars who have populated the Parisian locker room in recent years. And in particular Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.
Luis Enrique doesn’t like what shines
Luis Enrique coached two of them in Barcelona and he also coached the Bondynois in Paris for a season. However, he assures that he would not have been very interested in directing these three elements together. This is what he said in a long interview with the Iberian media Movistar. “I would not have coached the PSG of Messi, Neymar and Mbappé.”
The former coach of the Spanish national team elaborated by indicating that for him having a constellation of stars within a group is in no way a guarantee of success.
“If only the team with the best player in the world won titles, PSG would have eight Champions Leagues… and it has none” he remarked with a hint of sarcasm. Clearly, the Parisian coach does not like everything that shines. Or maybe he likes to be the main star of a club. As is the case at the moment at the Parc des Princes.
