A few days after its historic success against ASSE in the championship, Nice hoped to be able to follow up with another significant victory. In its stronghold of the Allianz Riviera, it wanted to start its journey in the Europa League by picking up the 3 points against Real Sociedad. Bet missed. The Aiglons could do no better than a draw.
Against the Basques, Haise’s protégés played a rather good match. However, their mistake was to miss their start with a goal conceded after 18 minutes of play by Barrentxea. The opponent was able to take advantage of their rare strong moment to take the advantage.
Nice may have regrets
