It’s been almost four months since Xavi Hernandez was sacked by Barcelona, making way for Hansi Flick as the club’s new coach. Since then, he’s been enjoying some time away from football and it turns out he’s been given the chance to make his comeback sooner than expected.
Xavi is likely to take a sabbatical and therefore not return until the start of next season. He could have been back as early as now, as Corriere dello Sport (via MD) reported that he recently rejected an offer from AS Roma.
Xavi rejects Roma
Earlier this month, Roma parted ways with coach Daniele De Rossi and had Xavi in mind to replace him. However, they have since opted for Ivan Juric after being rejected by the Barcelona legend.
It will be interesting to see where Xavi ends up after his return to football. Judging by the last few months, he will have no shortage of offers once he makes the decision to return.
