There is the infernal pace of FC Barcelona, which is stringing together victories and successes in La Liga. And there is that of Real Madrid, which is a little less spectacular.
On Tuesday night, the Merengues secured a strange victory against Alaves (3-2) in the 6th day of the championship. While Carlo Ancelotti had decided not to make any turnovers, despite this match being a weekday, the Madrilenians were impeccable from the 1st to the 80th minute.
The valiant Lucas Vazquez opened the scoring after 54 seconds, perfectly exploiting a cross back from Vinicius (1-0, 1st), and all of Real’s attackers were able to shine. Vinicius with this decisive pass and this constant danger on his left wing, Kylian Mbappé with a very nice goal at the end of a one-two in the middle with Jude Bellingham (2-0, 40th) then Rodrygo on a solo raid after the break (3-0, 48th).
Mbappé provides the essentials
But there was this censored end to the match, while Ancelotti had given some key players a breather (Valverde, Rodrygo, Mbappé, Militao) during the second half. Alaves scored twice in quick succession, through Benavidez (85th) and Kike Garcia (86th), and the Bernabeu ended up shaking.
We will also note the missed entry of Endrick, who could have received a red card for a bad gesture (83rd), and who missed the goal of the break at the end of the match (90th + 1). The essential is however assured for Real, who temporarily return to one point of Barça (who play Wednesday against Getafe), and for Mbappé, author of his 6th goal in 5 matches.
