Perfect evening for FC Metz. The Lorraine club took the lead in Ligue 2 after their 6-0 win over Martigues, who have now conceded 13 goals in three games. The Grenats were notably able to count on a hat-trick from their striker Cheikh Sabaly (35th, 45th+3, 48th), and a double from captain Matthieu Udol (37th, 70th).
With 12 points, Metz is at the top of the table alongside Paris FC, who won the evening’s clash against Guingamp (2-0), and Dunkerque, who brought down the previous leader, Bastia (2-1), with a new goal from Yacine Bammou. In this very tight championship, the Corsicans even slipped to sixth place, behind Annecy, winner of Troyes (1-0), and Pau, who dominated Lorient (1-0). It should also be noted that Ajaccio has moved back to the top of the table at the expense of Grenoble (2-0).
At the bottom of the table, the good operations are for Caen, who beat Amiens (2-1) thanks to a double from Alexandre Mendy, and for Laval, winner in Rodez (1-3). Finally, the only draw of the evening is for Clermont and Red Star (1-1).
