FC Barcelona: the 3 goalkeepers targeted to replace Marc-André ter Stegen

This is a project that the FC Barcelona leaders could have done without. Against Villarreal this weekend, Marc-André ter Stegen was seriously injured, since he suffered a complete rupture of the patellar tendon in his right knee. He has already been successfully operated on, and will have to face an absence of 8 to 9 months according to the Catalan media. The latter add that the German still hopes to return for the last matches of the season.

In any case, the management is in a difficult situation. It does not seem to have complete confidence in Iñaki Peña, the understudy of the Nationalmannschaft goalkeeper. Sport still reveals that he should have a few months – until the opening of the winter transfer window – to prove his worth. But in case the goalkeeper is not convincing, there are already three options on the table.

A Frenchman on the list!

FC Barcelona thus has 3 names in mind. The first leads to Alvaro Vallés, who was notably coveted by OM this summer. After a brilliant season last year, he was dismissed, and still is, by Las Palmas, because he does not want to extend. The 27-year-old goalkeeper would a priori be an inexpensive option for the Catalans for the month of January. Second name, that of Stole Dimitrievski (30 years old), substitute goalkeeper for Valencia but with a very good CV in La Liga. Barça had already tried to enlist him in the past.

The third track leads to Guillaume Restes (19 years old), the TFC goalkeeper. He has also been followed in the past, since he is very popular with the Catalan management. His price should also not be too excessive, at least according to the Blaugrana decision-makers. He is also seen as more than a simple understudy or a temporary replacement, since Barça believes that he could be a starter in the long term. The free agent market, where Keylor Navas is notably found, does not seem to necessarily interest the Catalans for the moment.
