FFF President Philippe Diallo spoke about his national coach, Didier Deschamps.

Didier Deschamps is the coach of the 2022 France team. The highly respected technician has apparently never been as challenged as he is now in his role. The Blues’ play leaves something to be desired and the results are also starting to decline. However, is he at risk of losing his place before the end of his contract (in 2026)?

The question was put to his superior, Philippe Diallo. And the latter’s response was categorical: there is no question of separating from the man who guided the Tricolores to the top.

Diallo does not rule out Deschamps contract extension

“I didn’t feel at the Euro that the group was falling apart. Today, we are entering the cycle of the World Cup in two years. The goal of the coach is to start preparing the team that will be the most competitive for this event.”he said in an interview with L’Equipe.

Noël Le Graët’s successor also said that he considered the criticism of the performance of this selection to be exaggerated.
“I don’t share this analysis at all. We reached the semi-final of the Euro, two years after a World Cup final, our results over time are exceptional. I hear comments even though he should rather enjoy a form of gratitude in relation to what he has brought to this French team for twelve years. Hats off. He has fully fulfilled his mission and has a strong determination to continue it.”

Diallo therefore has full confidence in DD. Does he believe in him to the point of considering an extension of his contract?
“This is not my immediate subject. Didier is the coach with the best track record in the history of French football, he has a two-year contract until the World Cup. Period. Results are his best shield against certain defeatists,” he retorted. In short, he doesn’t rule out anything.
