OM won an epic duel against Lyon this Sunday evening, for the 5th day of Ligue 1.

A spectacular Olympico. After a first act that was far from dull, but largely dominated by an OL with a numerical advantage, the two teams returned to the locker rooms with a score of nil-nil.

OM had a complicated first half following the expulsion of Leandro Balerdi right from the start. The Marseille captain was guilty of a foul on Lacazette for a second fatal yellow in the 5th minute. However, OL did not take advantage of it. Neither on a spectacular overhead kick from Orban in the 10th minute, nor on a missed penalty scored by Lacazette before the break following a handball by Rongier.

If Caleta-Car ended up opening the score for OL at the start of the second half, OM would go on to make a very nice comeback. With 20 minutes to go, Lirola, who had arrived on the pitch at half-time, escaped Tagliafico to deceive Perri with a small chipped ball that hit the target. Ulisses Garcia took advantage, lobbing Perri with a clever shot.

The end of the match was going to be epic. Because if Cherki was going to equalize for Lyon at the very end of the match, OM was going to regain the advantage in added time with a goal from Rowe, the Marseille hero of the evening. 3-2, final score, spectacular victory for OM.
