Soon, the time will come for Robert Lewandowski to leave the position of FC Barcelona’s main striker.

The Pole has suffered a dip in form over the past 12 months but is still prolific enough to justify his place as an undisputed starter.

However, Lewandowski is expected to leave no later than 2026, forcing Barcelona to look for a successor, given that Vitor Roque does not seem to be appreciated by the club’s sporting department. It is likely that a big name will be sought, and according to Sport, a preliminary list of three candidates has been drawn up.

Three players targeted

The most ambitious target is Erling Haaland, although if Barcelona can sort out their finances in the next 18 months, there are realistic possibilities of pursuing the Manchester City superstar.

Prolific Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is also being considered by Barcelona, as is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who scored against Atletico Madrid this week.

These three players would be very expensive, and could therefore only be profitable if Barcelona managed to drastically resolve its financial problems. For the moment, this is still far from being the case.
