After its victory in the Champions League, Stade Brestois followed up by beating Toulouse (2-0) this Sunday, while Montpellier secured its first victory of the season against Auxerre (3-2).

Eric Roy would have probably signed for the week to go as well as it did. Three days after its big debut in the Champions League, and this victory against Sturm Graz (2-1) in Guingamp, Stade Brestois followed up with a victory against Toulouse (2-0) this Sunday during the 5th day of Ligue 1.

Mama Baldé opened the scoring (21st) and the Bretons can thank Zakaria Aboukhlal, who wasted the penalty obtained by TFC by shooting over (35th). With also a goal from the returning Romain Faivre (90th+1), the SB29 took advantage to climb back up the rankings with now 6 points taken in 5 days.

For Montpellier, things are also looking up with this first success snatched against Auxerre (3-2) at the end of a crazy match. AJA had taken the lead through Hamed Traoré (18th), but MHSC turned the tide in the second half, in a few minutes, thanks to Akor Adams (65th) and Modibo Sagnan (71st). Ado Onaiwu had replied (72nd) in the process, but Adams scored a second goal in the process (75th) to do a lot of good to Michel Der Zakarian’s men.

Finally, in the last match at 5pm, Angers and Nantes drew (1-1). The Canaries had opened the scoring through Johann Lepenant (18th), but SCO responded with a penalty converted by Himad Abdelli (24th).
