One of the soap operas of this summer transfer window was the non-signing of Kevin Danso at AS Roma. Courted for many weeks by the Italian club, the 26-year-old defender was about to sign with the Giallorossi in the final hours of the transfer window. However, an unexpected turnaround occurred and the Austrian was rejected from the medical examination due to a potentially serious heart problem. But according to the Austrian media outletCrown newspaperthe northern rock would in reality suffer from a harmless scar at the level of the heart. The diagnosis was made by the best cardiologist in England, consulted expressly after the disagreements of several of his other colleagues. To definitively resolve the problem, the Lensois should undergo a minor surgical intervention in the coming days.

At the time of the player’s medical visit, a problem had indeed been detected by the Roman medical staff without being analyzed in more depth. Not wanting to take any risks, the AS Roma management had decided to, purely and simply, cancel the arrival of the Austrian international defender (23 caps). To the great surprise and disappointment of the latter, who had subsequently explained that he was regularly tested and did not suffer from any known heart problem. In the end, everyone was more or less right in this story. AS Roma had not invented a problem to cancel the transfer, and Kevin Danso does not indeed suffer from any heart disorder, whatever it may be. Status quo then, and perhaps a meeting next summer between Danso and Roma.
