Continuation of the 5th day of Serie A. Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa traveled to Veneto to challenge Venice, on the pitch of the Pier-Luigi-Penzo stadium. Back in the elite, the Venice club has had a very complicated start to the season with three defeats in five days played. In a match during which Eusebio Di Francesco’s troops showed some good things, the Arancioneroverdi managed to open the scoring in the wake of Gianluca Busio (63rd), a few minutes after the penalty missed by his teammate Joel Pohjanpalo (58th).

As the final whistle approached, Pohjanpalo doubled the lead (85th). In the standings, Venice breathes and pockets three important points to temporarily climb to 14th place, while Genoa remains on the edge of the soft underbelly with a discreet 11th position. Next weekend, the Arancioneroverdi will travel to the capital away to face AS Roma now coached by Ivan Juric, while the Grifone will welcome Juventus at home, on the 6th day of the Italian championship.
