Erik ten Hag was not kind to Marcus Rashford. Capable of the best and the worst, but still as inconsistent despite his 26 years, the player’s lifestyle and professionalism are called into question, with supporting evidence, to explain the Marcus Rashford case. Questioned on the issue, the Red Devils coach was not kind to the Englishman. “He may need help, but ultimately it has to come from him. He has to get his life back on track, he also has to improve his attitude in training and in matches. When he behaves with more professionalism, he will perform, because he is a top-class player.” retorted the Dutch technician at a press conference.

However, despite his reservations about the player’s personal life, ten Hag still believes in Marcus Rashford and is willing to give him a chance, again and again. “I think he’s always known, and every player knows, when your lifestyle is not good, you can’t perform. Marcus Rashford knows how to bounce back from a bad patch. He knows how to manage his career, his performances. He’s taken control of that and he’s on the way back. He’s started the season very well and he’s going to continue to improve.”explained the 54-year-old coach on the eve of the match against Crystal Palace. The message has therefore been received for the England international (60 caps, 17 goals).
