The new Club World Cup is said to be worrying FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Is Gianni Infantino worried? The Athletic think so. The British media reported an emergency meeting organized on Saturday by the FIFA president on the subject of the new Club World Cup which will begin in June 2025.

The Swiss has called together the heads of television channels in order to find the broadcasters of this competition whose disrupted format will put 32 teams into play. This has triggered protests from players and coaches, concerned about the hellish schedule imposed throughout the season with more matches to be played.

We don’t know the stadiums

The new-look Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13 in the United States, two weeks after the Champions League final. To date, FIFA has not announced the stadiums or sponsors of the competition.

The 2024 Club World Cup will begin this Sunday with the first round and the match between Al Ain (United Arab Emirates) and FC Auckland (New Zealand). Real Madrid will enter the semi-finals on December 18.
