PSG had the possibility of recruiting a candidate for the Ballon d’Or but did not follow through with the process.

PSG never made a serious offer for Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman over the summer, it has been reported.

Lookman was tipped to join Paris in the off-season, but he ultimately stayed at Atalanta. It now appears that PSG did indeed have the opportunity to sign the Nigerian international for €25 million. However, with attention having shifted to bigger names, including Victor Osimhen, the club have chosen not to make the Atalanta player a priority.

PSG did not believe in Lookman

Then, according to TMW, after his hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, the Lombard club increased his price to 55 million euros. A revised upward amount that is rather logical, especially since Lookman has gained a stripe and has notably been selected among the nominees for the Ballon d’Or.

At that price, PSG were seriously put off, while Lookman asked Atalanta to be excused from training in order to avoid injury in case a big club were interested in him.

However, with the deadline having passed and no offers having been made, Lookman has resolved to return to training. It is now agreed that no offers will be considered in January and that matters will be reassessed in June.
