Ismaël Koné played his first official minutes in the Olympique de Marseille jersey during the victory against Nice (2-0) this Saturday in Ligue 1. The Canadian midfielder came on in the 17th minute before the end of regulation time to replace Amine Harit.
Victim of an ankle injury, Koné had to miss the last three matches in Toulouse (1-3 victory), Reims (2-2) and Brest (1-5 victory). After this Marseille success, the Watford transfer, who arrived on the Canebière this summer, discussed his objectives with the Marseille club.
Koné has good feelings
“Of course, that’s why I’m here, to help the team and show what I can do. I had a little delay because of my injury, but today I’m here, thank God I’m healed, and I hope to play even more games and show what I’m capable of.”he confided for The Phocaean.
The Abidjan native was also reassuring about his physical condition after this first appearance against the Aiglons.
“Honestly, it was good. I told myself that it went well. I didn’t feel any pain in my ankle during the match. I got into the game, I felt good. So, physically, everything is fine,” he assured.
