Marseille won this Saturday against Nice at the Vélodrome (2-0). During the celebrations of 125 years of the club’s existence, the Olympians did the job on the arithmetic level. However, in terms of content, the score was not perfect. Roberto De Zerbi, their coach, had no trouble recognizing it.
“I am happy with the collective energy, the unity with the public. But there were quite a few mistakes individually and collectively that we were able to make. We can improve.”the Italian told DAZN.
De Zerbi does not feel the pressure
The former Brighton manager believes there is an obvious explanation for his team’s lacklustre performance:
“Obviously, I had difficulty getting international players during the break. We weren’t able to prepare what we wanted. But we feel a collective energy that will allow us to improve and be at the level we expect.”
OM’s next match will be against OL. The level will rise again. De Zerbi agrees: “The match against Lyon is going to be complicated. They spent a lot of money to have a good season. But we are capable of taking the upper hand.”
Finally, when asked about the pressure that accompanies a Marseille coach, De Zerbi indicated that “not feeling it”. “It’s especially a privilege to play in this stadium. I love this jersey. The pressure is mainly in wanting to do well. For us to give our all. After that, anything can happen.”
