His splendid strike into the top corner was one of the best goals of the tournament.
At just 17 years old, the young winger has entered a new dimension after just one full season with FC Barcelona, which he concluded with 10 goals and 14 assists. Lamine Yamal is also among the 30 players nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. But he has no illusions despite his leading role in the coronation of La Roja.
A Real player crowned?
“I was with Nico (Williams) in the elevator. He found out first that he was nominated, then me. Everyone congratulated us, but I have no chance, even if it’s good to warm up,” he confided during an interview with Antenna 3.
While many big names are conspicuous by their absence, first and foremost Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi but also Mohamed Salah, Kevin de Bruyne or Antoine Griezmann, the name of the future winner is perhaps to be found on the side of Real Madrid where Jude Bellingham and Vinicius rally many votes. Dani Carvajal, winner of the Champions League with Real and the Euro with Spain, is also mentioned, as is Rodri, elected best of the Euro and champion of England with Manchester City.
