Ivory Coast striker David Datro Fofana is no longer part of Chelsea’s squad. He is expected to join Greek side AEK Athens on Wednesday.
Chelsea sells one of its Fofana
Chelsea and AEK have agreed a loan deal for the young striker. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the news. : “David Datro Fofana leaves Chelsea to join AEK Athens on loan, an agreement has been reached. The deal also includes a £20m option to buy clause which is not mandatory, with AEK to decide in June 2025. Fofana has agreed, it’s time for the paperwork.”
Fofana’s departure is only half a surprise as he has played very little since arriving at Stamford Bridge (3 games with the first team). He has already spent two loan spells, at Union Berlin and Burnley.
Chelsea have yet another Fofana in their squad in the form of Wesley. The Frenchman is, in fact, part of the plans of Enzo Maresca, the new manager of the Blues.
