On June 30, Sergio Ramos decided to leave Sevilla for the second time in his career.

Since then, he has been looking for a new club, hoping to continue his career outside Europe.

There have been ongoing contacts with MLS and Saudi Arabia, but so far nothing has materialized. Ramos and his representatives continue to work on opportunities, and one of them has presented itself in recent weeks in Brazil.

Exotic destination for Ramos?

Botafogo have shown interest in Ramos, with talks taking place last week. However, ED claim a deal has fallen through as the Brazilian side are unwilling to meet the former Real Madrid centre-back’s demands.

Botafogo are not the first Brazilian club to reject Ramos, as they have also been turned down by Vasco da Gama and Flamengo. Corinthians have considered a proposal, but it is unlikely to be accepted. Therefore, the wait for a return to football will continue.
