Gunners playmaker Martin Odegaard suffered an ankle injury with Norway and could be out for several weeks.

These are images that Arsenal fans did not want to see. Martin Odegaard injured his ankle on Tuesday night with Norway, due to a nasty tackle from an Austrian player.

The London club’s playmaker quickly returned to England to undergo tests, but these were not conclusive enough, his ankle still being swollen according to the Daily Mail. The Norwegian staff assures however that the MRI showed that there was no fracture, and imagines an absence of around three weeks in the event of a serious sprain.

The injury comes at the worst possible time for Arsenal, who face Premier League games at Tottenham and Manchester City in the next two games. Odegaard could also miss the Champions League game against PSG in three weeks.
