After the resounding re-election of Vincent Labrune as head of the LFP, Antoine Kombouaré sent a clear message to the presidents of Ligue 1.

It’s confirmed. If you’re looking for a coach who is able to say what he thinks about Vincent Labrune, you can knock on Antoine Kombouaré’s door. A few weeks ago, the Nantes coach didn’t hesitate to criticize the LFP president’s record, particularly regarding TV rights (“If he’s a coach, he gets fired. When a coach has bad results, he gets fired.”the Kanak had let go). This Wednesday, the former PSG defender again answered questions on the subject.

“It’s the presidents’ choice, we respect it, Kombouaré reacted at a press conference, reports Ouest-France.
They have decided to trust Vincent Labrune again. They are better placed than me to know what he will bring to French football.” The Nantes coach nevertheless issued a warning to the club bosses. “On the other hand, they must stop complaining. We must stop crying that the clubs no longer have money and are in difficulty. It is up to him to work to straighten out French football.”

Kita still supports Labrune

It should be noted that Waldemar Kita, the president of FC Nantes, had withdrawn his candidacy for a position on the LFP board of directors. This withdrawal could have seemed like a disavowal or even a defiance towards Vincent Labrune. But after the latter’s re-election as president of the League, the Franco-Polish’s speech was no longer really that of an opponent. “Am I confident about the future? That’s something else, but in any case I support Vincent. I support competent people“, Kita replied, in comments reported by RMC.
