Set up in June 2023 under the presidency of Pablo Longoria, the “Thirteenth Man” program allowed several dozen former OM players to meet on Monday evening.

It was a very pleasant moment and a delicious evening that more than thirty-five players from Olympique de Marseille spent together on Monday evening. Mainly former figures of the Marseille club who met up as part of the “Thirteenth Man” program, initiated and implemented in June 2023 under the presidency of Pablo Longoria.

Organized at the “Dona Tigana”, a wine estate belonging to Jean Tigana, who played for OM between 1998 and 1991, the event was an opportunity for several generations of former and current players to meet up and share their memories while having a good time. The Marseille club published a short video of the event on Wednesday. It features Alain Boghossian, Manuel Amoros, Jean-Pierre Papin, as well as Roland Gransart and Gérard Gili.

Several former players received the “OM Legends” trophy from Pablo Longoria, a trophy created to thank the players who left their mark on the club. Invited to give his opinion on this reunion, Manuel Amoros did not hide his happiness: ” It’s always nice to meet up again, to have been part of OM. »

Same story for Alain Boghossian who appreciated the idea: ” It’s a wonderful initiative from Pablo (Longoria) and his entire team, to bring together the club’s veterans, because it’s done a lot abroad. In France, not much. I think this initiative is remarkable. »
