John Textor details his plan to buy Everton

While Olympique Lyonnais will return to Ligue 1 action this weekend, John Textor appeared at a press conference on Wednesday. The opportunity for the boss of the Rhone club to discuss various subjects with journalists such as a potential takeover of Everton. Already the owner of OL, Molenbeek, Botafogo and Crystal Palace, the American businessman recently obtained exclusivity in the negotiations for the takeover of the Mersey club. But for this acquisition project to come to fruition, John Textor is obliged to sell his shares in Crystal Palace, which he owns 45% of, in accordance with Premier League rules. Nevertheless, the main person concerned has a plan to keep his shares at Selhurst Park.

The potential acquisition of Everton would come from my own funding and the deal that is being discussed, I would be the buyer and not Eagle Football. The buyer of Everton would be John Textor. I would be the investor. A new holding company would be created. There would be no impact on OL Group. The acquisition would be done with equity if it goes well. There is a 90% chance of reaching an agreement but the current owner of Everton has a lot of choice” he detailed.
